Woman Dies After Alleged Sexual Assault in Srinagar’s Nishat

Four arrested as police launch investigation into suspicious death; FIR registered at Police Station Nishat.

Srinagar, May 04: In a shocking incident, a woman died after an alleged sexual assault in Nishat area of Srinagar this evening.

Acting swiftly, the police have registered an FIR at Police Station Nishat under relevant sections of law. Four individuals allegedly involved in the incident have been arrested.

In a post on X (Formerly Twitter), Srinagar Police said, “Have taken cognizance of a reported incident of sexual assualt of a woman who was found grievously injured under suspicious circumstances near Water Works Road, Nishat, and was later declared brought dead at the hospital.”

“FIR under relevant sections of law stands registered in PS Nishat and four accused persons involved in the commission of crime have been arrested. Further investigation is ongoing. District Police Srinagar remains committed to justice and public safety,” they said.
