Kupwara, Aug 19: Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two persons, including a woman, after suspected heroin was recovered from their vehicle during a routine patrol near the Radio Station in Batergam area of Kupwara.
In a media statement, a police spokesman said a Hyundai i10 Sport (JK15A-6188) was intercepted by a team from Police Station Kupwara.
Upon checking, a heroin-like substance was found in possession of the vehicle’s occupants.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Afaq Mohiuddin Bhat, son of Gh Mohiuddin Bhat, and Muneeba Begum, wife of Mehrajudin Bhat, both residents of Aloosa, Bandipora.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
