Baramulla, May 19: In a major breakthrough, Baramulla Police has busted an immoral trafficking racket operating in the Barzulla Kunzer area. The action was taken after receiving specific and credible input regarding illegal activities in the region, police said in a statement.
They said that a police team from Police Station Kunzer conducted a swift and well-planned raid, resulting in the arrest of four persons involved in immoral activities.
Those arrested have been identified as Ab Ahad Waza, son of Ab Khaliq Waza, resident of Utikoo Sheikhpora, Mohd Abdullah Waza, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Waza, resident of Barzulla Kunzer, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat, resident of Bamroda, currently residing at Utikoo and a woman (identity withheld).

An FIR has been registered under number 37/2025 at Police Station Kunzer under sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (PITA). The police have started further investigation to uncover any larger network involved in the illegal operation.
Baramulla Police has reaffirmed its commitment to act strictly against all forms of social evils and ensure peace and safety in society. The public is requested to stay alert and report any such suspicious activities to the nearest police station for timely action, the statement reads.
