Reasi, July 23: In a tragic incident, two young men lost their lives after a landslide hit their tent near the famous Shiv Gufa (Shiva Cave) in Badora area of Mahore, Reasi district, during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to officials, the victims were asleep in a tent close to the cave site when a sudden landslide triggered by loose debris (malwa) from the nearby hill buried them alive. The tent was completely crushed under the weight of the falling debris, leaving both individuals dead on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Rashpal Singh (26), son of Soba Ram, a resident of Tuli Kalavan in Chasana tehsil of Reasi district, and Ravi Kumar (23), son of Purushottam Kumar, hailing from Chenani in Udhampur district. Rashpal was working as a JCB operator, and both were involved in preparations for an upcoming religious event at the cave shrine.

Soon after receiving information, a police team rushed to the site, recovered the bodies, and launched further investigation into the incident. (JKNS)
