Srinagar, Oct 24: Two residential houses were gutted in a massive fire that broke out Friday morning in Faizabad Colony Naikbagh area of Central Kashmir Srinagar district.
An offical told that Fire and Emergency Services personnel, assisted by local residents and police, managed to douse the flames after several hours of hectic efforts. However, property worth lakhs was damaged in the incident.
No loss of life or injury was reported in the blaze. The cause of the fire is being ascertained.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation. (KNC)
