Srinagar police on tuesday said to have arrested two non-local thieves in Habba Kadal area of Srinagar, stolen items also recovered.

They said two thieves identified as Mohd Shamim Boya and Saiful Sheikh residents of West Bengal were arrested for stealing gold ornaments and cash from a house in Habba kadal.

A case under FIR no 14/2023 under section 380, 454 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been already registered in Shaheed Gunj police station, while stolen articles were also recovered, they said.

In a tweet Srinagar police informed, “Two thieves namely Mohd Shamim Boya and Saiful Sheikh both from West Bengal arrested for stealing gold ornaments and cash from a house in habba kadal. FIR no 14/2023 u/s 380,, 454 of IPC already registered in Shaheed Gunj PS. Stolen articles also recovered.”
