Srinagar, Jun 18: A massive fire broke out late Tuesday night in Pamposh Colony, Noorbagh area of Srinagar, damaging at least thirteen residential structures.
An F&ES official told Asian News Hub that the fire started around 10:35 PM, and Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) teams reached the spot within a minute to begin firefighting efforts. The fire involved two double-storey houses, five single-storey houses, and six sheds made of GCI (Galvanized Corrugated Iron) sheets — all of which had GCI sheet roofing.
He said that the sheds and household items inside were completely destroyed, while the single-storey homes suffered partial damage to roofs, ceilings, doors, windows, and belongings. One side of the double-storey houses was also affected. Nearby structures sustained indirect damage due to heat, smoke, and water.

Firefighting units from F&ES Headquarters, Safakadal, SH Pora, MR Guni, Mujgund, and Babademb stations were involved in the operation, he said.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident, the cause of fire was not known immediately, fortunately no injuries or casualties have been reported.
