DC Sgr stresses for close monitoring of tourists visiting Valley

(Asian News Hub) – In the wake of rise in the Covid-19 positive cases, J&K UT’s administration has asked the hoteliers in Valley to keep two rooms reserved for quarantining the tourism who test positive for the virus.

Sources told news agency—KNO, after many Tourists were reported to have tested positive for Covid-19, after which the divisional administration had looped in all the concerned CEOs of Tourism Development Authority and are being conveyed in case of any tourist tests positive.

Sources in the Divisional Administration told KNO that all the concerned CEOs of the Tourism Development Authorities are being conveyed measures to taken in case any tourist is tests positive.

Sources further added that the Hoteliers have been asked to keep some rooms reserved so that the same can be used as a quarantine facility for the infected Tourist as per the Covid SoPs.

Earlier, the District Administration Srinagar on Tuesday also held a review meeting on Covid-19 Containment measures which was also attended by Director Tourism Dr. G.N.Itoo , other concerned officers from different Departments involved in the management and containment of COVID-19 bedsides representatives of Hoteliers and Travel agents.

The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Asad, called for close coordination among line departments to keep close vigil and effective monitoring of tourists visiting Kashmir particularly at Airport and Lower Munda and sought cooperation from hoteliers and travel agencies in combating fresh Covid-19 wave so that balance is maintained between Tourism revival measures and restricting spread of Covid virus.

During the meeting hoteliers were asked to keep two rooms reserved in every hotel for Isolation of Covid positive tourists.
