Srinagar, Jun 12: The Ministry of Home Affairs has transferred IPS officer P D Nitya from the AGMUT cadre to the Rajasthan cadre on the grounds of her marriage with Rajasthan cadre IPS officer Pankaj Yadav.

Nitya, a 2016 batch IPS officer, has previously served as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Leh and was currently posted as SSP Pulwama.

The transfer was made under Rule 5(2) of the Indian Police Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954.

The decision was taken with the concurrence of the UT Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Government of Rajasthan.
