Srinagar, May 29: The body of a woman was retrieved on Thursday after she allegedly jumped into the Jhelum River near Khanpora Bridge in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to local sources, the woman was seen jumping into the river earlier in the day, prompting an immediate rescue operation by police, SDRF, and local volunteers. After hours of search efforts, her body was recovered downstream.
The woman has been identified as a resident of the Bemina Srinagar. The motive behind the act remains unknown at this time.
