Srinagar, Sept 19: The tragic road accident at Umerabad HMT area of Srinagar outskirts on Thursday evening has claimed two lives, after the injured husband succumbed to his injuries this morning at SKIMS Soura.
The couple, identified as Bashir Ahmed and his wife Fahmeeda of Umerabad, were hit by a speeding Swift car while crossing the road. Both were initially shifted to SKIMS Bemina, where Fahmeeda was declared dead on arrival.
Bashir Ahmed, who was critically injured, was later referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment. Despite doctors’ best efforts, he too succumbed to his injuries around 0600 hrs.
Kulgam Village Reports Hepatitis Case, One Dead, Another Hospitalised
Police have registered a case in this regard, arrested the driver and further investigations are underway.
