Srinagar Records Hottest Day of the Season at 35.7°C

Srinagar, July 04: Srinagar the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded its hottest day of the season, with the mercury rising to a sweltering 35.7°C.

Alongside Srinagar, other parts of the Kashmir region also recorded high temperatures, Qazigund recorded a maximum temperature of 32.8°C, Pahalgam at 30.0°C, Kupwara at 35.2°C, Kokernag at 33.0°C and Anantnag recorded a maximum temperature of 33.2°C.

Similarly Bandipora recorded a maximum temperature of 34.7°C, Baramulla at 34.4°C, Budgam at 34.7°C, Pulwama: 33.4°C, Kulgam: 32.6°C and Shopian: 34.4°C.

Notably, data from Ganderbal was not available at the time of this report.

The unprecedented heatwave has led to increased discomfort among residents, with health officials advising people to stay hydrated and avoid direct exposure to the sun, especially during peak hours. The high temperatures are also affecting agriculture, with farmers expressing concerns over potential impacts on crops.

As temperatures continue to rise, residents are urged to take necessary precautions to stay safe and minimize the impact of the heatwave.
