Srinagar police solves theft case, woman arrested with Rs 23.46 lakh stolen cash

Srinagar, June 08: Srinagar Police have solved a theft case by arresting an accused woman involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from her possession.

In a statement issued to Asian News Hub, a police spokesman said that police station Sadder received a complaint from Parvaiz Ahmad Wani son of Late Ab Khaliq Wani resident of Chinar Colony Baghat Srinagar stating therein that during 25/05/2024 to 27/05/2024, some unknown thieves have entered into his house and took away cash.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Sadder and investigation was set into motion, he said.

He said, during the course of investigation, technical evidence was thoroughly analysed and upon analysis, the accused lady identified as Nusrat Nisar wife of Nisar Ahmad Kuchay resident of Barsoo Awantipora was arrested.

On her disclosure, stolen amount of Rs 23,46,000/- was recovered from her house in Barsoo Awantipora, the spokesman added.

Further investigation is going on.
