Ramban/Kupwara, Sept 06: Two tragic incidents were reported in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, claiming the lives of an SPO and a young boy.
In Ramban’s Ramsoo area, a Special Police Officer (SPO) died after accidentally slipping into a steep stream near his duty post in Luroo. Police identified the deceased as Snatter Singh, a resident of Luroo. They said he fell into the nalla while on duty at Police Picket Luroo and died on the spot. His body was later handed over to his family.
In a separate incident in Kupwara, an 08-year-old boy lost his life after falling into a pond-like pit while playing outside his home in Kandi Drugmulla. Officials identified the victim as Toha Abid Peer. He was rushed to PHC Kandi in an unconscious state but was declared dead on arrival.

Police in both districts expressed condolences and said cognizance of the incidents has been taken.
