Srinagar, July 20: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a fresh weather alert for Jammu and Kashmir, forecasting heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds from July 21 to July 24.
According to the MET department, the weather will remain generally cloudy with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places across UT. A few areas may experience intense showers, while isolated locations are likely to receive heavy rainfall.
There is also a possibility of strong gusty winds in some parts of the Union Territory during this period.

The advisory warns of flash floods, especially in vulnerable areas, along with a risk of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones, particularly in hilly regions.
Water levels in rivers, streams, and local nallahs are expected to rise, which may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas.
In view of the weather conditions, farmers have been advised to suspend agricultural activities between July 21 and 24.
The MET department has urged residents and travelers to remain cautious and stay updated with official weather bulletins.
