Srinagar, April 20: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather update forecasting light to moderate rainfall, with intense showers at isolated locations, accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds across many parts of Jammu and Kashmir over the next 4 to 6 hours.
In light of the prevailing weather conditions, the MET department has advised the public to take necessary precautions: avoid water channels, loose structures, and landslide-prone areas; refrain from boating or Shikara riding in Dal Lake and other water bodies; and remain indoors or seek safe shelter until the weather improves.

The department continues to monitor the situation and urges citizens to follow official updates and advisories for their safety.
Earlier, the cloudburst struck the Duksar Dal area of Sangaldan in Ramban district, unleashing flash floods that swept away several structures, killed three people, while dozens were rescued by authorities amid the chaos.
