Srinagar, July 10: The Meteorological (MeT) Centre Srinagar has issued a weather update at 3:00 PM, predicting light to moderate rain and thundershowers over several parts of Jammu and Kashmir in the next few hours.
According to the forecast, areas likely to be affected include Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Srinagar, Budgam, parts of South Kashmir, Poonch, Pir Panjal Range, Chenab Valley, and some areas in the plains of Jammu.
The MeT Centre also warned of intense rain showers accompanied by strong winds (50–60 km/h) in parts of Kupwara, Handwara, Baramulla, Gulmarg, Uri, hilly areas of Bandipora and Budgam, and many parts of Ganderbal, Srinagar, and Poonch over the next 2–3 hours.

There is also a risk of landslides and mudslides in vulnerable areas.
Authorities have advised people to suspend Shikara rides and boating activities in Dal Lake, Wular Lake, and other water bodies during the next few hours for safety.
