Srinagar, Jun 24: Pampore Police have busted an illegal trade of petroleum products and seized 18,797 liters of fuel during multiple raids in Pampore town.
Acting on reliable information, a team led by DySP (P) Shravan Singh and SHO Pampore under the supervision of SDPO Pampore RP Singh, raided several locations involved in the unauthorized storage and sale of petroleum products. The operation was carried out in coordination with officials from the Revenue Department, Metrology Department, and the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs.
During the raids, police recovered a large quantity of kerosene oil, diesel, and petrol stored and distributed illegally. After proper verification by the Metrology Department, the total seized quantity was found to be 18,797 liters.

Three individuals involved in the illegal trade have been identified as Mudassir Nabi Dar alias Bolla, son of Gh Nabi Dar, resident of Samboora, Danish Mushtaq Bhat, son of Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, resident of Bilal Colony, Kadalbal Pampore and Rameez Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Amin Bhat, resident of Meej Pampore.
A case (FIR No. 68/2025) has been registered at Police Station Pampore under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway.
Police said the action shows their commitment to stopping illegal activities that risk public safety. Authorities have urged people to report any such crimes in their areas to the nearest police station.
