Shopian, July 22: A Power Development Department (PDD) daily wager tragically lost his life after falling from a low-tension (LT) electric pole in Chakoora village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Mohd Yaqoob, a PDL (Permanent Daily Labourer) posted in Sector Chakoora. The incident occurred while he was carrying out a power disconnection drive in the area.
Eyewitnesses said he fell from the LT pole and died on the spot due to severe injuries.
