New Delhi, April 22: Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has strongly condemned the terror attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, calling it a “cowardly and heartbreaking” incident. The attack left several tourists injured and reportedly claimed multiple lives.
Amit Shah Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack, To Visit Srinagar for High-Level Security Review
In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said, “The news of tourists being killed and many injured in the cowardly terror attack in Pahalgam is extremely condemnable and heartbreaking. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.”
He further called on the government to take responsibility beyond “hollow claims” of normalcy in the region. “The entire nation stands united against terrorism. Instead of making empty claims about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the government must now be held accountable and take concrete steps to ensure that such barbaric incidents do not happen again, and innocent Indians are not forced to lose their lives like this,” he added.
In response to the attack, Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Srinagar for a security review meeting to assess the security situation following the tragic incident.
