Srinagar, Jan 12: Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah on Sunday opposed any proposal requiring passengers to change trains on the Jammu-Katra line.
In a post on facebook, CM Omar emphasized that such a move would undermine the purpose of the rail line and render the massive investment pointless.
He stated, “While we understand the need to secure the train and its passengers, making passengers change trains will defeat the very purpose of the line.”

CM Omar suggested that thorough security checks at Katra or Jammu would be a better alternative to train changes.
He clarified that no concrete proposal has been made so far, and once it is, his party will provide inputs and suggestions.
