Motor vehicle dept suspends 11 route permits, 22 DL’s of traffic violators in Anantnag

In order to curb the traffic violations, Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Anantnag on Wednesday suspended 11 Route Permit and 22 Driving Licenses during a drive held here.

The action against the violators was taken during a special drive launched by MVD Anantnag against drivers found flouting traffic rules.

A team from Motor Vehicles Department (MVD), headed by Motor Vehicle Inspector Mohammad Owais, today laid special nakka at different locations to check violations of the various visible offenses under Motor Vehicles Act, 2019 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989.

During the checking, nearly 50 school buses , 110  Maxi cabs and 80 Two Wheelers  were  were booked/ challaned for various offences such as diversion of route permit, carrying students in private vehicles, carrying excess students in school buses, plying without fitness, without a permit, Dangerous Driving, Without HSRP and without Speed Limiting Devices.

Various Mini Buses which were found plying against route permits and carrying students were also checked and their Route permits were recommended for suspension.

The main emphasis of the enforcement drive was to inculcate road safety measures among road users so as to reduce road accidents in the district and safety of school-going children with the strict implementation of laws.
