Ganderbal, April 10: A woman carrying her two minor children—a son and a daughter—jumped into the power canal near Wurpash village in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday afternoon.
Eyewitnesses told that the woman, without any warning, leapt into the canal along with her children. However, thanks to the timely intervention by some local residents who witnessed the act, all three were rescued alive from the deep waters.
The locals wasted no time in pulling the trio out and shifting them to a nearby hospital, where doctors said their condition was stable.

Police sources confirmed that the woman (name withheld) and both children are safe and sound. “They are under medical observation. We are in the process of recording statements and ascertaining what led her to take such an extreme step,” a police official said. (KNT)
