Baramulla Police have busted a marriage scam following a report lodged by Gh Mohammad Bhat with the Police Post Mirgund. He detailed an incident where he fell victim to fraud perpetrated by Mohd Qasim Bhat from Gund Ibrahim, Trikolbal Pattan, who deceived him under the pretense of marriage. Gh Mohammad Bhat claimed to have paid an approximate sum of Rs 1,50,000 to the alleged fraudster. A formal case was registered at the Pattan Police Station, prompting an immediate investigation, Police said in a statement.

In response, the police swiftly took action, leading to the arrest of Mohd Qasim Bhat and his accomplice, identified as Nisar Ahmad Bhat. Both were apprehended and placed in custody at the Police Station Pattan.

As the investigation progresses, the authorities are diligently probing further into the matter to ascertain additional details and potential ramifications of this fraudulent scheme, the statement added.
