Srinagar, Feb 29: A man allegedly ended his life by jumping into river Jhelum in Safakadal area of Srinagar this morning.

Reports reaching Asian News Hub said that a man identified as Nazir Ahmad Matto resident of Tangbagh Iddgah allegedly jumped into river jhelum from Safakadal bridge this morning.

They said, a rescue operation has been launched to retrieve his body.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and reason was not known immediately why he took extreme step.
