Sopore, Jun 10: A man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Sempora orchards in the Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.
According to officials, Shahid was found in an unconscious state in the orchards of Sempora. Upon receiving information, a police team from Police Station Bomai rushed to the spot and shifted him to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sopore. However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Shahid Farooq Sofi, son of Farooq Ahmad Sofi, a resident of Sempora. He was around 25 years old and worked as a domestic helper, officials said.

Meanwhile, the body has been handed over to the legal heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation to ascertain the cause of death.
