Srinagar, Sept 07: The Meteorological Department has predicted a fresh spell of rains and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir over the next few days, with an advisory issued for vulnerable areas prone to landslides and shooting stones.
According to the forecast, September 7–8 will see generally cloudy weather with one or two spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places in J&K. Brief spells of moderate to heavy rain and thunder have also been predicted over isolated districts of the Jammu division.
From September 9–12, a few places in the Union Territory may witness brief rain or thundershower activity, while a fresh spell of rain and thunderstorms is likely at scattered to many places on September 13.

People have been advised to stay away from water bodies, river embankments, and loose structures. “There is a possibility of landslides and shooting stones at vulnerable spots during this period,” the MeT Centre said.
Farmers have been advised to plan harvesting of paddy and other agricultural activities from September 9 onwards, keeping in view the weather conditions.
