Srinagar, Jun 11: The Meteorological Department here has predicted a brief spell of light rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir between June 14 and 17, offering temporary relief from the ongoing heatwave.
According to the latest forecast issued by the MeT Centre Srinagar, isolated to scattered places in the Union Territory may witness light rainfall, thunder, and gusty winds during this period.
However, the department added that the weather will remain generally hot and dry on June 12, and 13, with a similar dry spell expected to return between June 18 and 20.

The MeT has also issued a warning for severe heatwave conditions at scattered places across J&K over the next two days. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities between 12 noon and 4 PM, and take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses.
Farmers have been advised to continue with regular agricultural activities.
