(Asian News Hub) – A local militant has been killed in an encounter in nadigam orchards of Imam sahib in district Shopian on Wednesday afternoon.
Reports reaching Asian News Hub said that a local militant from Shopian of proscribed militants outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) been killed in an encounter at Nadigam village of Shopian.
Earlier joint team of Police, Army and CRPF had launched a cordon-and-search operation (CASO) in Nadigam orchards after receiving inputs about the presence of militants.

They said as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot the hiding militant fired upon the security forces which was retaliated triggering an encounter.
Arms and ammunition have been recovered and the operation has been called off, reports added.
