Talking to Asian News Hub (ANH), Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi said that the crime rate in Kashmir is increasing at a rapid pace as the young generation have not got the teachings of Islam in a proper way.

“The youth have not been made aware about the teachings of Islam and especially the behaviour with elders, parents and others. Keeping the youngsters away from the Islamic teachings is the outcome of the rise in graph crimes in Kashmir,” he said.

Reacting over the murder of woman in Budgam, Mufti Nazir Qasmi said that it is an inhuman act. He said that such an incident cannot be even imagined as it is an extreme level of cruelty.

“Our religion doesn’t teach us to kill any innocent and that too with such brutality. Killing innocent will not be spared on the day of judgment,” he said.

About controversial speeches of religious clerics on social media, he said that it is true that the necessary issues are being ignored, but everyone is not same.

“We request these clerics to stop indulging in creating rifts. The social media platform should not be used for such speeches and we appeal them to understand their role,” he said.
