(Asian News Hub) – President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday asserted that the government has ushered in a new era of development in Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh region.

He was addressing the customary joint session of both the houses of parliament ahead of the Union Budget, UNI reported.

Recounting the various development work undertaken by the government in the two Union Territories, Kovind said the government has started a new central scheme for Jammu & Kashmir’s industrial development at a cost of about Rs 28,000 crore.

“Last year Qazigund-Banihal tunnel was opened to traffic and international flights between Srinagar and Sharjah have also started,” he said.
