Srinagar, July 22: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Flash Flood Guidance Bulletin for 12 districts across Jammu and Kashmir, warning of a low to moderate risk of flash floods over the next 24 hours.
According to the alert, the districts under potential threat include Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Reasi, Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Baramulla, and Anantnag.
In light of the warning, the District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) have been advised to implement standard safety protocols, ensure readiness of response teams, and closely monitor vulnerable areas to minimize any damage or loss of life.

“The situation is being monitored, and further updates will be shared based on continuous inputs from IMD and related departments,” a local official confirmed.
Authorities have urged residents, especially those living in low-lying or flood-prone areas, to stay updated via official weather alerts, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain, and follow instructions issued by local administration and emergency services
