Srinagar, May 21:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi (IPS), chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir to assess preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2025, Muharram, and other significant events.
The meeting was attended by top police officials including DIG Central Kashmir Range Rajiv Panday (IPS), DIG North Kashmir Range Maqsood Ul Zaman (IPS), DIG South Kashmir Range Javid Iqbal Matoo, SSP PCR Kashmir, all district SSPs of Kashmir Zone, and other senior officers.
During the meeting, participating officers briefed the IGP on the comprehensive security plans in place to ensure a peaceful and smooth conduct of the forthcoming events. The discussions highlighted the importance of inter-agency coordination, enhanced surveillance, and effective real-time monitoring.

IGP Birdi emphasized strengthening the existing security infrastructure with the installation of CCTV cameras at strategic locations. He directed the deployment of adequate manpower at all camps and sensitive zones. The IGP also underlined the importance of intelligence-led operations, timely threat assessments, and proactive measures to mitigate risks.
The officers shared insights from previous experiences, stressing the necessity of robust communication systems and streamlined coordination among security forces.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous commitment from all officers to work diligently to maintain peace and order during the upcoming events across Kashmir Valley.
