Srinagar, July 15: A fresh spell of widespread rainfall is expected to hit Jammu and Kashmir from July 16, with weather experts warning of heavy rain, landslides, and possible cloudbursts, especially in the Jammu division.
According to Faizan Arif from Kashmir Weather, this active weather system will bring prolonged and continuous rainfall, unlike previous short bursts. The Jammu division is likely to receive intense showers, while Kashmir valley will also witness moderate to heavy rain in several parts.
The rainy spell is due to a Western Disturbance interacting with the monsoon winds, a combination known to cause severe weather in the Himalayan region.
