Srinagar, Sept 15: Independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif of Kashmir Weather has predicted rain showers across several parts of Jammu and Kashmir over the next 24 hours, with heavy rainfall possible in some areas.
The forecast has raised concerns in Udhampur district, where rains at Tharad could make truck movement across the point extremely difficult. The area is already prone to traffic disruptions during bad weather.
“Praying there are no landslides this time. If it rains at Tharad, the situation for truckers could turn very challenging,” Faizan Arif added, saying he will be issuing a separate forecast soon.
“Enough Is Enough”: CM Omar Abdullah Slams Centre Over Highway Mess
Meanwhile, Chief Minster Omar Abdullah on Monday said the Government of India has failed to make the road fully functional. “This highway falls under the jurisdiction of the Government of India. If they cannot maintain it, they should hand it over to us. I will deploy a team of engineers who are currently available here,” he added.
