Jammu, March 22 (ANH): Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh Tuesday said that police along with other security forces have been able to kill all militants involved in civilian killings and attacks on forces across Kashmir. He, however, said that those leftover are being tracked and will either be arrested or killed.

Talking to reporters on the side-lines of an event at Jammu, the DGP Singh while replying to a query that militants seem to have stepped up attacks on civilians and security forces, said: “Where ever attacks on civilians or security forces have taken place, police along with the security forces have successfully killed the militants involved in these crimes. Those left over are being tracked down and will either be killed or arrested.”

The DGP Singh, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that wherever militancy related incident took place be that attack on civilians or security forces, police have acted swiftly and traced those involved. “The militants involved in the killing of civilians and attacks on civilians were hunted within shortest span of time and eliminated in successful operations,” he said, adding that wherever crime takes place, police leaves no stone unturned to track the militants involved in the incident.

He said as far as the border areas of Jammu are concerned; efforts from the neighbouring country is on to push militants into this side through various passes including tunnels and to drop drugs and weapons through drones etc.

“Today, we have procured 48 motor bikes from the Hero Motor Corporation. Of this 33 will be used by the police to patrol in border areas to keep a close watch on suspects in border areas and remaining 15 will be used by women police for prevention of crime against women,” he said.

Earlier, a police official while speaking on the occasion, said that women related crimes including chain snatching, molestation, eve teasing etc have increased in three districts of Jammu region that include Jammu district, Samba, and Kathua. “15 bikes procured by police will be given to women squads who would patrol in these districts to ensure women remain safe,” he said.
