Govt College of  Education Jammu celebrates 76th Independence Day

Srinagar, Aug 15: Government College of  Education (GCOE) Jammu in collaboration with NSS Unit, Cultural club and physical Education club celebrated Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Dr. Kulvinder Kour, Principal GCOE hoisted the National Flag in the presence of staff members.

Padma Shri Jitendra Udhampuri, also an Alumnus of the college was the chief guest on the occasion. The students of NSS unit of GCOE presented cultural items with great pomp and show.

The Principal of the College highlighted the  sacrifices of our great brave heroes who laid their lives for this country and its countrymen to get  Independence from the British Empire.

She said that We owe this freedom to all the freedom fighters. She also said that it is our duty to protect and guard the honor of our country.

Jitendra Udhampuri also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of the freedom that we have got as a result of the supreme sacrifices of our freedom fighters.

Prof. Shapia Shameem also spoke on Nasha mukt Bharat  and a pledge was taken to make India Drug free. An award felicitation ceremony was also held to felicitate the winners of the event.

The program was concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof. Sarita Dogra. NSS PO Prof. Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Dr.Anju Bala, Dr. Sushma Bala,Prof.Kaushal kumar,Prof.Vinay Lata ,Prof. Rajinder Kour, Prof.Mansi Sharma,Prof.Neeraj Verma and the non-teaching staff were also present on the occasion.
