Ganderbal, Oct 06: In an significant judgment, the Principal and District Sessions Court Ganderbal has convicted Ulfat Ahmad Magray, son of Ghulam Rasool Magray from Khanan Kangan, in a rape case registered under FIR No. 24/2020 at Police Station Kangan.
Acoording to media statement, the case was registered under Sections 376 and 506 of the IPC and Section 4 of the POCSO Act. After a detailed investigation and court trial, the accused was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of ₹1,000 under the POCSO Act.
This verdict highlights the strong commitment of Ganderbal Police to ensure justice for victims of sexual crimes, especially minors. The investigation team worked hard to collect solid evidence that led to the conviction.
