Jammu, Jun 11: A fire broke out in the lobby area of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly building, causing significant damage to property.
According to media reports, the fire started in the lobby section of the building where photos of former Governors and Lieutenant Governors were displayed.
The flames destroyed several sofas, chairs, and other items of furniture, worth several lakhs of rupees, they added.

Fire and Emergency Services teams reached the spot quickly and managed to control the fire after a lot of effort.
Although the exact reason for the fire is not confirmed yet, initial reports suggest it may have been caused by a short circuit.
No one was injured in the incident. Authorities have started an investigation to find out the exact cause of the fire.
