Srinagar, May 10: A mild earthquake measuring 2.7 on the Richter scale struck the Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday afternoon, National Center for Seismology (NCS) informed on X (formerly twitter).
The tremor occurred at 3:14 PM IST, with its epicenter located at a latitude of 33.15°N and longitude of 75.95°E. The quake originated at a shallow depth of 5 kilometers beneath the earth’s surface.
There have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property.
