Budgam, July 10: A police constable on duty died following electric transformer blast near the main gate of a police station in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday.
An official told that the constable, identified as Altaf Ahmad Bhat, was performing sentry duty at the main gate of the police station when a sudden electric explosion occurred in a nearby electric transformer, causing him to fall unconscious.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors tried to revive him. However, he was declared dead, he said.
