Srinagar, Sept 07: Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, on Sunday visited the revered shrine of Jinab Sahib Soura where she paid obeisance and inspected the ongoing construction works, including the New Grand Mosque project.
During the visit, she was briefed by the engineering team about the progress of the project, which began a few months ago and is expected to be completed soon. Dr. Darakhshan instructed the team to increase working shifts to ensure early completion of the mosque and allied development works taking place at the shrine complex.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Darakhshan said the Waqf Board remains determined to pursue development of religious places with dedication and transparency. “We are committed for the development and glorification of our religious centres at all costs. Transparency and accountability within the Waqf system, and the unprecedented pace of development, may have unsettled some, but the overwhelming support from the people keeps us motivated,” she said.
She further assured that all ongoing projects will be completed on time, adding that special arrangements are also being made for devotees during the upcoming Milad celebrations at the shrine.
