Carpenter dies after falling from rooftop of Masjid in Budgam

Srinagar, Sep 13: A carpenter slipped to death during construction of a Masjid in Watrihal area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday afternoon.

Quoting reports the news agency KDC said that one carpenter identified as Hafizullah Khan Son of Mohammad Yousuf, a resident of Zagoo Khan Mohalla slipped while working at the rooftop of Jamia Masjid Watrihal resulting in injuries to him.

The injured carpenter was immediately shifted to PHC Watrihal where he was referred to SMHS hospital Srinagar for further treatment.

A police officer told KDC that the carpenter succumbed to his injuries at the SMHS hospital.

The body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites, he said adding that Police has started inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC in this regard.
