Srinagar, Aug 06: A woman who was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident in Beerwah area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district has succumbed to her injuries at SMHS Hospital in Srinagar. Her son continues to remain in critical condition.
Reports said that the accident occurred on Wednesday morning, when a speeding tipper rammed into the scooter they were riding, throwing both the mother and son off the vehicle.
After the incident, the duo were rushed to a nearby hospital. Given the severity of their injuries, they were referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar, where the woman succumbed during treatment, however, her son remains in critical condition.
The deceased woman has been identified as Fatima, wife of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Parra, a resident of Wachoo Beerwah, and her son has been identified as Sameer Ahmad, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Parra.
Man Dies After Tractor Overturns in Bandipora
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and launched efforts to trace the absconding tipper and its driver. An investigation is ongoing.
