Police as per Asian News Hub (ANH), said that in continuation to the missing of Abdul Rashid Dar of Kunan area of Kupwara on December 16, 2022, a body was recovered from Zurhama-PK Galli forests today early this morning.

“The body was brought to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara where it was identified by the relatives of missing person,” police said, adding that after completing all medico-legal formalities including post mortem by a team of doctors, the body was handed over to the family members for the last rites.

Police, meanwhile, said that cognizance of the matter has been taken for further investigations and more details will be shared accordingly.

Pertinently, the family of Abdul Rashid Dar, earlier in December, staged a massive protest here at Srinagar’s Press colony where they alleged that their beloved was arrested by forces from the home; the claim was however refuted by the authorities then.

Meanwhile, Peoples Conference (PC) has demanded a fast track impartial probe in this regard to ensure justice to the deceased.

“After 75 days of missing , the deadbody Ab Rashid has been found at Kunanposhpora. Heartwrenched to hear this. We demand a fast track impartial probe in this to get the deceased justice,” media incharge of JKPC, Kupwara, Rahil Dar tweeted.
