Bandipora, Sept 12: The body of a young labourer, who had gone missing a week ago after drowning, was recovered from Wular Lake in Bandipora on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Amir Ahmed Dar, 25, son of Gulzar Ahmad, resident of Baniyari Sharki village of Sonawari. His body was spotted by sand workers at Laharwarpura stretch of Wular Lake, seven days after he had drowned, reports KNT.
They said Amir had drowned in Nichiyari Nallah at Baniyari while extracting sand. Despite continuous efforts, his body could not be traced until today when it surfaced in the lake.
