Baramulla, July 14: Rescue teams on Monday recovered two more bodies from the Gantmulla drowning site in Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, bringing closure to a tragic incident that claimed three lives.
The bodies recovered today include Ahmad Bin Khalid (12) of Hyderpora and Haji Mehnaz Rashid Shah (40) of Khanyar, Srinagar. Both had gone missing on Sunday after being swept away by strong river currents while attempting to rescue children who slipped into the Jhelum near the NHPC canal.
One person had been rescued on the same day, while the body of another minor was recovered earlier. With the recovery of these two remaining bodies, the multi-agency search operation has officially concluded.
