The Court of Judicial Magistrate Vailoo in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district has directed Police station Kokernag to investigate the allegations against BJP leader Mohammad Sidiq Khan and Mohammad Shahid Bhat. It also directed police to register a case, UNI reported.

Two women including a 23-year-old lady had moved an application before the Judicial Magistrate for registration of case against Khan and Bhat. The two had initially approached police against the duo.

The complaints alleged the police did not take any action against the two after the matter was reported to them. They later moved court to seek justice, as per UNI.

“Keeping in view, the nature and seriousness of allegations of commission of cognizable crime raised by the applicants against the non applicants, proper/ thorough investigation is needed to be done to ascertain the facts,” the court order read.

The woman in the complaint alleged that the accused BJP leader sexually abused her after promising a job in ICDS department.

She said the accused also blackmailed her and threatened that photographs would be made viral on social media.

“The accused has been continuously raping upon her,” the complaint said.
