New Delhi, April 22: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has strongly condemned the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, calling it a “dastardly act” and vowing the harshest action against those responsible.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Shah expressed his grief over the loss of innocent lives and extended his condolences to the families of the deceased.
“Anguished by the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. My thoughts are with the family members of the deceased. Those involved in this dastardly act of terror will not be spared, and we will come down heavily on the perpetrators with the harshest consequences,” he wrote on X.
The Home Minister briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the incident and conducted a video conference with top officials to assess the situation.

Home Minister also announced that he will be travelling to Srinagar shortly to personally review the security situation and hold an urgent meeting with senior officials from all concerned agencies.
Meanwhile, security forces have launched a massive operation to track down the attackers, and security has been tightened in and around Pahalgam and other sensitive areas.
