Srinagar, Aug 30: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Jammu on September 1 (Monday) for a two-day visit to review rescue and relief operations and assess the damage caused by recent cloudbursts and floods, particularly in Katra, where landslides along the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage route claimed several lives.
An official told that Shah will conduct an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas and hold meetings with officials and affected families. His itinerary includes visits to Jammu city, Katra, and Kishtwar to get a first-hand assessment of the situation.
Accompanied by a team from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the Home Minister will focus on relief, rehabilitation, and restoration measures in the worst-hit areas.

On September 1, Shah is scheduled to visit Katra and is likely to stop at Narayana Hospital to meet those injured in the recent Mata Vaishno Devi landslide.
Sources said the Home Minister may also announce decisions related to restoration of connectivity, rehabilitation, and other measures to support affected communities. (KNO)
